|HOSPITAL QUALITY INDICATORS|
Sparrow Ionia Hospital, formerly Ionia County Memorial Hospital, supports efforts to make hospital comparison data as available to the public as possible. When it comes to making healthcare decisions, it is important for you to have useful information from trusted sources. We provide the following information as a service to you:
The Joint Commission - The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations is an independent, not-for-profit organization that evaluates and accredits more than 15,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States. The Joint Commission's hospital comparisons are based on quality improvement goals being met in 10 "core measure" areas such as pneumonia and heart failure. Learn more at www.qualitycheck.org.
MPRO and the Governor's Award of Excellence - The Critical Access Hospital Program (CAH) Program, created by Congress in the Balanced Budget Act of 1997, is designed to support limited-service hospitals located in rural areas. MPRO works to ensure that critical access hospitals (CAH) report both baseline and re-measurement figures for a new set of 12 CAH Quality Improvement measures, and demonstrate improvement on these measures. You can view more about these programs at MPRO's Critical Access Hospital website: www.mpro.org/cah
MI Hospital Inform, Price and Quality Data - This website, launched in January 2008, provides Michigan patients, families, employers and others with information about the charges, payments and quality of care at Michigan hospitals. This website is a voluntary effort by Michigan hospitals aimed at helping empower consumers in their choices regarding their personal health. www.MIHospitalInform.org
